Gryphon Energy and Red Hill Renewable Energy are Queensland-based businesses committed to developing cutting-edge renewable energy projects that support the Queensland and federal Government’s long-term sustainable energy ambitions.

In 2025 we were joined by AMPYR Energy Australia to help deliver the Rutherglen Storage Project.

Meet the Team

  • James Basham

    James is a civil engineer/developer and is responsible for project management and all development approvals. James was previously a Country Manager (China and Hong Kong) and Development Director for Lendlease, and a Project Director for Multiplex Developments. He founded Gilmore Advisory, which provides infrastructure development and commercial advisory services and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from QUT.

  • Cameron Charlton

    Cameron is a lawyer and is responsible for deal structuring and contract negotiations. He recently retired as a partner of Minter Ellison, after 38 years with the firm. Before retirement, he was the National Managing Partner of the Infrastructure, Construction and Property practice and a member of the firm’s Executive Leadership Team and holds a Bachelor of Law (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce from UQ.

  • Robert Mailler

    Robert is an electrical engineer and is responsible for project design, modelling and strategy for the Rutherglen Project. He has had key roles in project deployment and operations for ten operating renewable generators, three of which are hybrid projects. He has provided advice and designs for 1 GW of upcoming projects. In 2003, Bulletin magazine named him one of the “Smart 100 Australians” and he holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from UQ.
